LEE SMITH STOPS BY NHS
Lee Smith rolled into NHS on Tuesday with TM Jake Jones and did a little product pillaging. On his behalf, he was very hestitant to take more then a couple boards and a couple tees... and so I asked him "Have you been here to pick out your own product before?".
He said "No, I haven't". That means get a big ol' cart, fill it up and get on with your day. He had fun checkin' out all the old school graphic Tees Santa Cruz brought back as well as lookin' at his new board (EZ Money) before it gets sent to the shops.

We introduced him to the working force of NHS and he is a super cool dude! NHS veteran employee and director Pat Burke had a couple things to say to him "So you're 'Easy Lee' Lee, right? You've had the best selling board in recent years... and you're real big for a skater."

NEIGHBOURS

Henning Braaten co-stars in the first ever independent skate movie from the Nordic countires of Europe. The Neighbours project has been going on for one and a half years and is filmed in Scandinavia, southern Europe and California.
"We wanted the world to turn their eyes our way" director Geir Allan Hove says. "The media is too much domainted by American skaters and brands, whereas our skaters have the same talent, but not the same fame and opportunites. We hope this video can play a part in making it fairer," Hove says.
Neighbours will be distributed in the USA, Europe and Japan this spring so try to get your hands on this one SC fans.. or just anyone looking for something fresh and new in a skate movie!

HE’S BACK! JASON JESSEE ON SANTA CRUZ SKATEBOARDS VETERAN’S DIVISON

Santa Cruz Skateboards is pleased to officially welcome Jason Jessee back to the family and the team!
Vet’s Division Commanders, Tom Knox & Eric Dressen, made the suggestion to get Jason on. Dave Freil talked to him and said he sounded into it, so Knox and I drove out to meet Jason at his Watsonville warehouse to pitch the idea of him joining the Vets Division. Jason showed us what he’d been up to - building one of a kind choppers & crazy metal sculptures and battling over the rights to his life story documentary titled, "Pray For Me".
After a little friendly persuasion, he agreed - as long as we understood that “it’s not going to be easy to work with me” - that was back in September 2005. Eight months later, Jason’s debut model on the Veteran’s Division titled “Rape of Liberty” is due to release this month.
Jason’s re-issue boards continue to be some of the most sought after boards ever released by Santa Cruz Skateboards. His Veteran’s Division model is sure to carry on the tradition.
If we can get a hold of Jason, we hope to have a web bio up on www.santacruzskateboards.com sometime soon – stay tuned.
